A 29-year-old home maker and mother of nine year old boy has filed a complaint against the teacher of a private school alleging corporal punishment .
According to the complaint lodged by mother of a Class 2 student of ‘B’ section at Nalanda Global Academy School,was allegedly assaulted by a teacher during school hours.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 2,2026, between 1.30 pm and 2 pm.
The complainant stated that the teacher,identified Vinikitha,questioned the child regarding a Mathematics lesson.
When the student replied that he did not know the answer,the teacher allegedly slapped him on the cheeks, hit him on the shoulder with a wooden duster,and abused him verbally.
Following the incident,the child reportedly returned home frightened and informed his parents about the alleged assault.
Based on the complaint,the police have registered a case against the teacher and initiated legal action for corporal punishment and harassment of a minor charging the teacher under section 115(2) ( voluntarily causing hurt) , 118(1) ( voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means ) 352( intentional insults aimed at provoking a person to break public peace or commit an offence) of BNS for further investigation.
