A quick action by the Chandra Layout Hoysala police team helped rescue a 56-year-old woman who accidentally fell into a 25-foot-deep pit near a public park in Nagarabhavi early Friday morning.
According to police,the woman,identified as Sudha Parimala,fell into the pit during the early hours.Her son immediately alerted the 112 emergency helpline,seeking assistance.
The control room informed personnel from Chandra Layout Police Station,following which ASI Srinivas Murthy and Head Constable Vinoda of the Hoysala-61 patrol team rushed to the spot within four minutes.
The officers located the woman inside the deep pit with the help of the mobile phone she was carrying.She was found exhausted and disoriented,unable to climb out.
The police conducted a rescue operation using an iron rope and safely pulled her out of the pit.She was later shifted to Aryan Hospital for medical treatment.
Senior officials said the swift response of the patrol team helped save the woman from a potentially dangerous situation.
In a similar incident,the Malleshwaram Hoysala team helped prevent a suicide attempt near a railway track in Subramanyanagar on Thursday afternoon.
According to police,a man had informed his family members that he intended to end his life near the railway track due to personal issues.
Alarmed by the message,his family immediately contacted the 112 emergency helpline and sought police assistance.
The control room alerted personnel of Malleswaram Police Station,ASI Jagadeesh S.P.and Police Constable Nijalinga from the Hoysala-94 patrol team rushed to the spot and reached within two minutes.
During questioning,the man told the officers that he had been under mental stress due to personal problems and had consumed alcohol before going to the railway track with the intention of ending his life.
The police personnel counselled and consoled him, preventing any untoward incident.They later ensured his safety and handed him over to his family members.
