The High Grounds police on Thursday registered an FIR against convener and co convener of Assam BJP party “BJP4Assam”social media account in-charge for posting objectionable video on the account depicting Assam CM shooting a group of men from minority community.
The post went viral questioning the CMs intentions which later he refuted the allegations citing he is not aware of such posts .
According to the complaint dated February 8,2026,a post circulated on a social media platform on February 7, 2026,was found to contain objectionable and potentially provocative content.
The complainant alleged that the content could disturb public peace and promote enmity.
Based on the preliminary inquiry, police have initiated an investigation.
The FIR notes that legal action against Biswajith Khaund and Ron Bikash Gourav charging them under section 192 (Wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 353(2) (criminalises the circulation of false information,rumours,or reports intended to incite hatred, enmity,or ill-will between different religious,racial, language,or regional groups)of BNS for further investigations.
