Five Robbers from Rajasthan arrested for jewellery shop robbery in Bengaluru & recovered gold ornaments worth Rs.2.5 Lakhs & weapons

The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested six persons from other States in connection with a jewellery store robbery and recovered gold ornaments and weapons worth Rs.2.50 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Ankithnath,30, Anoop Singh,30,Ravi Rao,28,Anop Ram,and Arun Jayaram, 31,All the accused are from Rajasthan staying in the different parts of the city .

Senior officer said the incident took place on January 27, at a jewellery and banker’s shop located in Dasanapura village under the Madanayakanahalli police station limits.

The shop owner lodged a complaint stating that three unidentified persons entered the store while his sons were present.

One of the accused engaged the shop owner in conversation by showing jewellery designs on a mobile phone,while another entered the shop and pulled out a pistol,threatening those inside.A third accused later joined them.

The accused fled the spot after making away with gold rings,chains,other ornaments and Rs.50,000 cash from the counter.

A case was registered at Madanayakanahalli police station,and investigation was taken up.

During the probe,police recovered a mobile phone left behind by the accused at the scene.Based on technical analysis and credible information,the first accused was arrested near a garment shop in Kothanur on February 1.

He was produced before a court on February 2 and remanded to police custody for 12 days.

Further interrogation led to the arrest of another accused on February 3 near Kempegowda bus stand, who was remanded to police custody for 11 days.

Subsequent investigation revealed the involvement of four more persons.On February 6,three accused were arrested near Jodhpur in Rajasthan and produced before the court on February 7,following which they were remanded to police custody for seven days.

Based on information provided by the accused,police recovered one pistol,two live rounds,three empty magazines,four mobile phones,one two-wheeler used in the crime and 9.1 grams of gold ornaments.

The total value of the seized property is estimated at Rs.2.50 lakh.Police said further investigation is under way to trace the absconding accused and establish the full chain involved in the crime.
