Noida: Senior journalist and founding member of the Global Festival of Journalism Vipin Gaur paid a courtesy visit to Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat at his residence and formally invited him to participate in the 14th Global Festival of Journalism, scheduled to be held in Noida from February 12 to 14, 2026.
Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat currently serves as the Minister for Basic Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education, Cooperatives, Higher Education, Medical Health, and Medical Education in the Uttarakhand government. During the meeting, Vipin Gaur presented the official invitation letter and briefed the minister about the objectives, themes, and national and international significance of the festival.
Dr. Rawat warmly accepted the invitation and appreciated the efforts being made to promote ethical, responsible, and public-interest journalism. He emphasized the importance of such platforms in strengthening democratic values and enhancing the positive role of media in society.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipin Gaur said that the Global Festival of Journalism has consistently served as a common platform for journalists, media educators, policymakers, and communication experts from India and abroad. The annual event focuses on promoting press freedom, professional integrity, and innovation in media practices.
He added that the festival features panel discussions, workshops, award ceremonies, and interactive sessions, providing opportunities for dialogue on contemporary challenges faced by the media industry.
According to the organizers, the 14th edition will witness participation from national and international delegates, senior editors, media professionals, academicians, and students. Key themes will include media ethics, digital transformation, misinformation, and the role of journalism in society.
