Man falls from bike run over by BMTC bus on two wheeler rider, driver arrested by Electronic City Traffic police

A 28-year-old man was killed in a road accident involving a BMTC bus and a two-wheeler in Electronic City on Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Kaniraj,a native of Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu.

Senior officer told reporters that the accident occurred around 12.30 pm when Kaniraj and two of his friends had come to the city from Hosur on a two-wheeler to look into a juice shop he had decided to open in Bettadasanpura.

While on the way, their bike collided with a BMTC bus.The handle of the two-wheeler reportedly hit the bus, causing Kaniraj to lose balance and fall under the rear tyre of the bus, resulting in his death on the spot.

Kaniraj’s friend,who was riding pillion,sustained injuries and has been admitted to a hospital.Police said the accident was caused due to the BMTC bus driver’s carelessness and over speeding.

The driver has been arrested and the bus seized.A case has been registered at the Electronic City Traffic Police Station.Further investigation is underway.
