Two Drunken Youths arrested for Misbehaving With Women,Assault Police During New Year Celebrations in Bengaluru

Two youths were arrested by Vidhana Soudha police for allegedly misbehaving with young women and assaulting on-duty police personnel during New Year celebrations in the early hours of January 1.

Senior officer told reporters that the incident occurred around 1.40 am when a few intoxicated youths behaved inappropriately with young women who were standing by the roadside waiting for a cab.Disturbed by their behaviour,the women alerted the police.

Constable Ravi,who was deployed for New Year bandobast duty and was on night patrol,questioned the youths.

However,the accused allegedly picked a quarrel with the police,pushed the personnel,and tore the reflector jacket worn by the constable.

Following the incident, the police immediately overpowered the accused and took them into custody in a Hoysala patrol vehicle.

The arrested youths have been identified as Ansh Mehta and Parv Rathi are students from Chennai had come to city to celebrate new year.

An FIR has been registered at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station,and further investigation is underway.
