Cylinder Explosion at PG in Kundalahalli Kills Techie,Injures Three

A 23-year-old private firm employee was killed and three others,including a woman,were injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a co-living paying guest accommodation in Kundalahalli, under the HAL police station limits,on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Aravind (23).

The injured are Venkatesh (28),a PG employee,C.V.Goel (23),and Vishal Verma (23).Police said Venkatesh is in critical condition.

The incident occurred at Seven Hills Sai Co-Living PG, which has 43 rooms and houses around 55 residents.

According to police,at around 6.15 pm,Aravind noticed smoke emanating from the kitchen while he was drying clothes and went downstairs to investigate.

At that moment,a commercial gas cylinder exploded due to a suspected leakage.Aravind died on the spot,while three others suffered burn injuries.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.A case has been registered at HAL police station,and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to verify compliance with safety norms.
