Bike Rider Dies While Avoiding Pothole in Nelamangala; Family Demands Justice

A bike rider lost his life after attempting to avoid a pothole on the road,allegedly caused by the negligence of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the municipal authorities.

The deceased has been identified as Tabraiz,a resident of Subhash Nagar in Nelamangala town.He sustained serious injuries in the accident and was admitted to NIMHANS, where he succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.

Following his death,the victim’s family has placed the body at their residence and is preparing for a protest, demanding justice.The family has made it clear that they will not conduct the last rites until their demands are met.

Speaking to the media, Zarina,the mother of the deceased,broke down and said,“I have lost my only son. He was doing POP work and was the sole breadwinner of our family.I myself have undergone surgery, and Tabraiz was taking care of us.Due to the negligence of the city municipal authorities, my son lost his life.”

She further stated that the family will not perform the funeral until the District Commissioner visits the spot and assures justice.

“Until the Deputy Commissioner comes here and ensures justice for my son’s death,we will not conduct the funeral,” she asserted.

In view of the tense situation,heavy police security has been deployed near the deceased’s house.Hundreds of police personnel are stationed in the area to prevent any untoward incidents and to maintain law and order.

The incident has once again raised serious questions about poor road maintenance and official negligence, with locals demanding accountability from the concerned departments.
