A 50-year-old Traffic head constable attached to Channapattana traffic station was killed after he accidentally fell into the Shettihalli lake in Chanapattana rural police station limits on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshman,who was returning home from work on his two wheeler when the incident occurred .
We suspect that while riding on the lake bed,Lakshman lost control and slipped into the lake and drowned.His family members when he did not returned home late tried to reach him but his mobile phone was switched off .
Meanwhile on Tuesday morning passers-by found the two wheeler lying on the lake bed and the body of Lakshman wearing helmet was found.
The police rushed to the spot recovered the body and shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
A case of un-natural death has been registered and investigations are on to ascertain whether the death of accidental of any foul play involved .
