A 19-year-old pharmacy student died by suicide at her paying guest accommodation in Soladevanahalli on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased,identified as Vatsala,a native of Hassan, was a second-year B.Pharma student at a private college on Hesaraghatta Road.
The incident came to light around 2.30 pm when her roommates found her hanging from a ceiling fan in her room.They alerted the PG owner, who informed the police.
A police team arrived at the spot and shifted the body for postmortem. Preliminary investigations revealed that no suicide note was found.
Police are questioning her friends and hostel mates to understand possible reasons behind the extreme step.
Her mobile phone has been seized for forensic analysis.
Soladevanahalli police have registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is underway.
