In a tragic incident,a 37-year-old driver was killed when the truck he was driving lost control and plunged into the Bidraguppe lake in Attibele on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh,a native of Kalaburagi and working for a company.He was driving the truck loaded with crushed stone and passing through the road close to the lake.
Police suspect that Mahesh was alone and driving the truck in rash and negligent manner.He lost control over the truck and due to the weight the truck plunged into the lake.
Passers-by noticed the truck in the lake and alerted the police,who rushed to the spot along with the State Disaster management team and fire and emergency service personnel.
On Tuesday the police pulled the truck using crane and recovered the body.
The body has been shifted to post-mortem and the police are awaiting report to further investigation.
