A 26-year-old private firm employee was allegedly sedated and robbed of valuables worth Rs.6.89 lakh by a woman he had met through a dating app.
The incident took place at a hotel room in Indiranagar where the duo had checked in on Saturday,police said.
The accused has been identified as Kavipriya and Harshavardhan.
According to the complaint,the victim,a resident of Gundappa Layout,had come into contact with a woman through the (‘Happn’)app about two months ago.
On Saturday,the woman,identified as Kavipriya,came to meet him at a restaurant in Indiranagar where the duo had dinner and drinks .
Since they were drunk and it was late in the night,The duo decided to check into a hotel near-by.Few minutes later Kavipriya ordered food online and offered him a glass of water.
After drinking water, victim allegedly passed out, following which she stole 28 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs.3,22,000,a 30-gram gold bracelet worth Rs.3,45,000,Rs.10,000 in cash,and an Apple smartwatch worth Rs.12,000,amounting to a total loss of Rs.6,89,000.
Based on the complaint,the Indiranagar police have registered a case of theft and deceiving someone results in them delivering property or altering a valuable security against Kavipriya and Harshavardhan and further investigation is on.
