A 25-year-old city based advocate who was out on walk with her pet dog was allegedly harassed by an unidentified man near Upkaar Layout in Jnanabharathi police station limits on Friday night .
According to the complaint,the victim was approached by an unidentified man and requested permission to pet the animal.As several people often interacted with the dog in a similar manner,she allowed him.
While petting the dog,the man began talking to her,but moments later he suddenly attempted to touch her inappropriately.Realising the “bad touch”,the woman objected strongly.
When he tried to touch her again,she pushed him away and slapped him.As she raised an alarm,the man fled the spot.In the commotion,her mobile phone reportedly fell which he picked up and escaped .
By the time nearby residents gathered,the accused had fled the scene .
The woman later filed a sexual harassment complaint at the Jnanabharathi police station on Saturday.
The Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified man charging him under section 74 (assaulting or using criminal force against a woman with the intent or knowledge that it is likely to outrage her modesty) 75 (sexual harassment),303(theft) and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) of BNS and analyzing CCTV footage to identify the accused .
