Man immolate Near Kengeri Railway Station,Dies on the Spot

Passers by stunned when they saw a man aged around 45 years poured chemical and set himself on fire and started walking on the tracks of Kengeri railway station before collapsed and died on the spot on Wednesday afternoon .

According to the police,the incident occurred around 1.45 p.m.when the man,was seen walking on the railway track towards Nayandahalli.

He reportedly poured petrol like chemical on himself,set himself on fire,and ran in flames for a few minutes before collapsing.

Some residents of a nearby apartment complex recorded the shocking scene on video,which went viral on social media.

A passenger at the station witnesed the horrific incident alerted the police control room.

Onlookers rushed to rescue the man but were unable to save him as he had sustained severe burn injuries.

The Kengeri Railway Police reached the spot and found no identification documents or mobile phone on the deceased it was burnt and nothing can be retrieved at the moment .

The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem examination.

A senior police officer said that the station master of Kengeri railway station filed a complaint,and a case of Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered.

Efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased and ascertain the reason behind the extreme act.

The police collected CCTV footage from in and around the area to track down the identity of victim.

The police are also checking with the local residents to ascertain his identity..
