Domestic help arrested by Bagaluru police for killing pet dog inside apartment lift in Bengaluru

In a shocking incident,the Bagaluru police have arrested a domestic help for allegedly killing a pet dog in a brutal manner inside the lift of an apartment building in Kannur Road on Saturday..

The brutal act was caught on CCTV camera installed in the lift where the accused identified as Pushpalatha is seen lifting the dog with a leash inside an elevator and then smashing it on the floor of the lift killing the pet called Goofy,on the spot.

The accused later seen dragging the pup out of the lift and carried it back to the apartment informing the owner Rashika KR,that the dog has died.When he asked how the pup died, she replied i do not know .

Suspecting her behaviour she reported the matter to the police who rushed to the spot and verified the CCTV footage to ascertain the facts .

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals act and also under section 325 ( mischief by killing, poisoning, maiming, or rendering useless any animal) of BNS.

The visuals of the dog’s final moments,captured on CCTV, have gone viral,evoking widespread anger and sympathy among animal lovers.

The accused was hired to take care of Goofy in September with a salary of Rs.23,000 per month.
