In a swift action,the Konanakunte police have track down and arrested a 22-year-old mechanic who crushed a 40-year-old rag picker to death with a stone for Rs.10 in Yelachenahalli on Wednesday.
Based on the information,the police rushed to the spot and found an deceased,a rag picker was lying dead outside the shop with a head crushed with a stone .
The police registered a case of murder and shifted the body for post-mortem and gathered CCTV footage from in and around the area.
Based on the technical details,the police arrested the accused Sahil Pasha from Ilyas Nagar within four hours of the crime .
Probe revealed that Sahil is irregular to work and spend most of his time outside home.He would move around and pick up fights with the people living on the street .
The accused confessed that he confronted the deceased who was sleeping outside the closed shop and demanded money.
Heated argument ensued when the deceased refused to pay.Police said probably he did not have money and was elder than the accused hence refused outright asking him why i should pay you.
Sahil after the argument left the scene in huff only to return later and saw the deceased sleeping.In a fit of rage,he picked up a stone and smashed on the head , killing him on the spot .
The accused said that now he regretted killing him and did not want to do it .
The police have subjected the accused for medical examination to ascertain whether he was under the influence of any intoxication.
