A police sub inspector attached to High Grounds police station has been suspended after he released a suspect without inquiry.
The police who were on special drive detained the suspect and brought him to the station for inquiry.
The accused officer who was at the station,released him without inquiry and documentation.
The incident came to light when senior police officials returned from special drive and inquired to find that he was already released.
The matter was brought to the notice of the DCP and the issue was escalated to the city police chief.
Taking strong objections the accused PSI was suspended on dereliction of duty and ordered departmental inquiry into the incident.
This is the sixth police officer who has been suspended in the past one week .
Koramangala inspector and Halasurgate inspector were among the five police personnel suspended for corruption charges and dereliction of duty .
