The special team of police from North West Division crack down on a gang of six people including three minors for allegedly vandalising over 30 vehicles in a multiple locations in western Bengaluru.
The accused identified as Jayanth,19,Likith,18,and Gagan,23 along with three minors were arrested on the charges of vandalism,arms act,while two others are on the run. Efforts are on to track them down,DCP,North West,Division,Nagesh DL,said .
The incident came to light on Thursday after the owners of vehicles found the damaged vehicles and filed a complaint .
The CCTV footage recovered from a near-by houses found that the accused were wearing hoodies sweatshirts,armed with clubs and lethal weapons,to vandalise the vehicles on Magadi Road,Byadarahalli and Madanayakanahalli.
While the investigation continues,the police sources said that as of now, the motive remained unclear and the vandalism was under the influence of alcohol .
The police are however probing further to ascertain the exact motive and their criminal background .
The police suspect that the same gang was likely behind a robbery on the Avalahalli-Doddaballapur Road after committing the vandalism.
The incident went viral on social media raining comments from different people about the law and order and on night patrolling system .
