Bengaluru District Election Officer and Chief Commissioner,Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to ensure that the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls is conducted meticulously and without any errors.
Addressing a meeting with representatives of political parties held today at the GBA Head Office regarding the Special Summary Revision-2025,he stated that the revision is being carried out as per the directives of the Election Commission of India across 8,972 polling stations in Bengaluru district.
He emphasized that all complaints related to the revision process should be addressed promptly and that political parties must be provided with any requested information without delay.Instructions were given to carry out the revision exercise in a flawless and transparent manner.
Preparatory meetings have already been held at the level of Additional District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers.
He urged representatives of political parties to actively participate in the meetings held by the Electoral Registration Officers within their respective Assembly constituencies.
*Instructions for Work on Holidays as Well:
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been instructed to carry out revision-related duties even on holidays. Necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
Political parties were also requested to take an active role in the revision process and to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) accordingly.
*Special Commissioner (Election) Preeti Gehlot,provided a detailed presentation on the constitutional provisions, legislative frameworks, history of summary revisions, Special Intensive Revisions,and Special Summary Revisions.
She elaborated on the enumeration methodology,the necessary documents to be submitted during the enumeration process,and the declaration form that must accompany the Enumeration Form.
Special voter awareness camps will be organized as part of the revision exercise.Additionally, review meetings will be held every 15 days to disseminate relevant information.
To enhance public awareness, short films and posters will be prepared and shared through social media platforms.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Dr.B.Sharanappa,representatives of recognized political parties, and other officials.
