Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar has instructed officials to restore and open service roads for vehicular traffic in areas where metro line construction has been completed along the Hebbal to KR Puram stretch.

During a joint inspection conducted between 1:00 AM and 4:30 AM,covering the stretch from Hebbal flyover to Ramamurthy Nagar Junction along the Outer Ring Road (ORR),the Commissioner emphasized the need for coordination among departments to complete all pending works within the stipulated timeline.

In the stretch between the Hebbal flyover and Venkatan Cafe Road (LHS service road),major metro construction work is being carried out.

To facilitate smooth public movement, the BMRCL has been directed to begin road restoration activities after the completion of works.

All pile cap sections on the metro construction stretch must be properly reinstated.Although partial restoration has been done in some sections, the Commissioner noted that the work was not done to acceptable standards and directed immediate rectification.

At the Veerannapalya flyover, underground cable-laying work by KPTCL is currently underway and must be completed swiftly.

Following this, the High-Density Corridor (HDC) project authorities have been instructed to fully asphalt the LHS service road. Until asphalting is completed, the roads must be maintained free of potholes.

*Repair Stormwater Drains:

The ongoing KPTCL work near Veerannapalya flyover has damaged existing stormwater drains.Restoration of these drains must be completed within two days. Additionally, debris and construction waste in the area must be cleared immediately.

*Prevent Waterlogging:

Near the down ramp of Veerannapalya flyover (towards Manyata side), stagnant water has been severely affecting traffic movement.

HDC authorities have been instructed to construct drains along the road to ensure proper water flow. The BMRCL must also ensure rainwater is diverted into these drains.

*Other Key Directives Issued During the Inspection:*

*From Manyata Tech Park to Nagawara flyover, BMRCL must cover all potholes along the road.HDC must clear silt from roadside drains and hand them over to the BMRCL.

*In front of Manyata Tech Park, BMRCL must take steps to avoid traffic congestion.

*Near Nagawara flyover, the ongoing GAIL gas pipeline replacement must be expedited.Once complete,HDC should asphalt the service road.

*The width of the primary stormwater drain near Nagawara flyover must be increased and connected to the nearby stormwater drain.

*At Hennur Junction, there is water leakage on the road that must be addressed immediately.

*HDC must ensure that the entire LHS service road up to Ramamurthy Nagar is well-maintained and pothole-free.

*A proper drainage system must be installed on the RHS service road beneath Nagawara flyover.

*All roads inspected must be regularly maintained to remain dust-free.
