Joint Inspection Conducted by Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar and Local MLA A.C.Shrinivas

Under the leadership of Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar and Pulakeshinagar MLA A.C.Shrinivas,a joint inspection was conducted starting from Periyar Nagar Circle and covering various parts of the constituency.Necessary instructions were issued during the visit.

*Key Directions Issued During the Inspection:

*Garbage Issues:Excessive garbage dumping on roads was observed.The AGM of Solid Waste Management and Health Inspectors were instructed to conduct continuous monitoring.

*Warning to Link Workers:Link workers were warned to raise awareness among residents regarding door-to-door garbage collection.The workers also highlighted issues related to their mustering schedules.

*Shortage of Auto Tippers:In densely populated areas like D.J.Halli,citizens pointed out the inadequate number of auto tippers.The Commissioner responded that the issue would be reviewed and addressed as per norms.

*RFID Monitoring:Daily tracking of auto tippers was emphasized, and mandatory implementation of RFID technology was instructed.

*Stormwater Drain Inspection:In Roshan Nagar,D.J.Halli, stormwater was seen overflowing onto roads.The Assistant Executive Engineers were instructed to expedite work and immediately initiate desilting operations.

*Kaval Byrasandra:A large amount of garbage was found dumped in front of the C.M.A.Women’s Pre-University College.The Solid Waste Management department was directed to clean the area immediately.

*Shampura Railway Track Road Expansion:Instructions were given to initiate steps for the expansion of the road along the Shampura railway track.

*Construction of Kushal Nagar Hospital:The under-construction hospital is to be completed at the earliest and made operational for public use.

*Old Bagalur Layout Hospital:The hospital construction in Sagayapuram’s Old Bagalur Layout is to be completed quickly and opened for public services.

*Water Supply Issue:Residents of Sagayapuram have been facing water shortages for the past month.Based on complaints,BWSSB officials have been directed to immediately provide water through tankers and ensure regular supply is restored soon.

The inspection was also attended by Joint Commissioner Mohammad Naem Momin,respective Executive Engineers,Assistant Executive Engineers,and officers from the Health and Solid Waste Management departments, among others.

*Commissioner Reviews Pothole Filling Works:

Later,the Commissioner,along with Joint Commissioners, Chief Engineers, and concerned engineers,inspected pothole filling works.

On Amrut nagar Main Road,near the Amruthahalli Police Station,potholes were being filled using eco-fix material. During the review, the Commissioner directed that 500 eco-fix bags be procured for each Assembly Constituency to address small potholes during the monsoon season.

At Kogilu Circle in the Yelahanka division,the Commissioner also reviewed pothole repair works using hot mix asphalt and instructed officials to expedite the process while maintaining high quality.

*Continued Seizure of Single-Use Plastic:

As per the Commissioner’s instructions,daily inspections against single-use plastic through collaborative efforts of SWM engineers,health inspectors,and marshals are being carried out.

Today,the team visited a plastic storage site in Yelahanka New Town,seized approximately 1,200 kg of banned single-use plastic, and imposed a fine of ₹1,00,000 in a single case.Warnings were also issued against the use of such materials.

*Training Workshop on Socio-Economic and Educational Survey for Backward Classes.

A training workshop was organized today on the third floor of the Yelahanka Mini Vidhana Soudha auditorium for conducting a socio-economic and educational survey of backward classes within city corporation limits.

Deputy Commissioner Dr.Mamatha addressed the session and shared several suggestions related to the survey.

Nodal officers gave a presentation (via video and PPT) on how to collect data using a mobile application during house-to-house surveys.

The workshop was attended by senior KAS-ranked nodal officers, Deputy Commissioners Dr.Mamatha and Mangalagowri, engineers of Bengaluru North City Corporation,and staff from the Revenue Department.
