Bengaluru East City Corporation Commissioner,D.S Ramesh,today inspected the pothole-filling work in AECS Layout,which falls under Ward No.85–Doddanekundi.
The Commissioner instructed all ward-level engineers in the city corporation to intensify their efforts to ensure pothole-free roads.
He also informed that a massive cleanliness drive was conducted under the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative in the Belthur Main Road and Hoodi areas of Ward No.85, in collaboration with the Solid Waste Management (SWM) department and the local Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA).
Over 75 members of the Hoodi RWA actively participated in the campaign, contributing to a large-scale cleaning effort along Belthur Main Road.
The drive included clearing garbage dumped on empty plots and roadside areas, as well as removing silt from drains to improve sanitation.
During the inspection, the Commissioner noticed a nearby bar using single-use plastics and failing to segregate waste properly.A fine of ₹10,000 was imposed on the spot.
He also heard grievances from local residents and instructed concerned officials to take appropriate action based on the issues raised.
Present during the inspection were Deputy General Manager Dananayak, Executive Engineer Ravikumar, Assistant General Manager Jyothi, along with other officials.
