Unable to bear the burden of loan incurred for the treatment,a couple strangled their minor children to death to kill themselves .
However while husband killed himself his wife saved after she went to inform her relatives about their plan in Gonakanahalli village of Hosakote on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Shivakumar,32, his daughter,Chandrakala,11,and son Uday Surya,7.
The police detained Manjula,30,on the charges of murder and attempt to suicide case for further investigations.
According to the police,Shivakumar,a daily wage employee had met with a road accident four years ago and stopped working after both of his legs were badly injured .
It was a hit and run case and the couple struggled to get treatment and borrowed huge sum of loan for the medical treatment
Though Manjula worked as domestic help it was not enough for the family as the couple had under heavy pressure to repay the loan borrowed .
Unable to bear this,the couple decided to end life after killing their children.As per the plan the couple strangled the children to death while they were sleeping .
Shivakumar asked Manjula get some snacks to eat as last meal and inform her relatives about it,so that they can perform the last rites .
When Manjula went out to the shop,Shivakumar ended his life by hanging.Manjula while returning went to her relatives house and informed them about the plan .
While walking back,the relatives on suspicious,followed her and alerted the police before she could take her extreme step .
The Hosakote police rushed to the spot shifted the bodies for the psot mortem and detained Manjula on the charges of murdering her children and attempt to end life .
