High drama prevailed at the City civil and session court hall 64,when film Actor Darshan,prime accused in Renukaswamy murder case appeared through video conference and made a submission he is locked up in the cell and his health condition is deteriorating as living condition inside the prison is unbearable and demanded the authorities to give him poison .
A visibly shaken and tears in his eyes,Darshan said that he is locked up in the cell and not allowed to move .“I have not seen sunlight for many days, my hands have developed fungus, and my clothes smell.I can’t live like this anymore.Please,just give me poison.Life here has become unbearable,”Darshan said during the hearing .
Responding to his remarks,the judge said,“Such things cannot be done.That is not possible and directed the prison officials to allow him to walk and provide him pillows and bed-sheet as per the prison manual .
The court did not take any decision on shifting Darshan to Ballary prison citing,no valid reasons.If there are any violations of condition and misbehaviour,the prison department can take a call,the court said posting the hearing for September 19.
Darshan was arrested in June 2024 in connection with the abduction and murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga.
When Darshan was arrested and lodged in Parappana Agrahara central prison as Under trail in August last year, he was found sipping tea and smoking with a gangsters and rowdies in the prison premises .
The prison department came under the scanner for lapses on their part and later he was shifted to Ballary prison .
Taking all this into account the prison department decided keep him under full scrutiny keeping his security in mind.
