One post of Deputy Commissioner (Administration, Elections and IT) has been allotted to GBA in the selection grade and one post of Assistant Commissioner in the junior grade.
The remaining five Municipal Corporations have been allotted one post of Senior Commissioner each and two posts of Senior Zonal Joint Commissioner each for each of the two zones of the Municipal Corporations. All these are posts of KAS cadre.
IAS Grade IV Special Commissioner post for GBA
An IAS officer of the rank of Principal Secretary or above will be the Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).
Four posts of Special Commissioners have been reallocated to oversee the departments of Administration,Revenue and Information Technology, Health and Education,FECC,Elections,Disaster Management,Public Relations and Coordination and (Finance)and the Chief Finance Department.
Where are the 5 city councils?
There are newly formed Bangalore Central, North, South, East and West Municipal Corporations.Some of the zones of the existing BBMP are being expanded.A total of 10 IAS cadre posts have been allocated.
Five Commissioner posts have been created, one for each Municipal Corporation.These posts are reserved for Secretary-rank IAS officers.
One additional Commissioner post has been created for each Municipal Corporation.These are reserved for senior IAS officers.
Two IPS posts
The posts of ADGP and SP have been allotted to the Greater Bengaluru BMTF division.The allotment of these posts was necessary to facilitate the new administrative system after the dissolution of BBMP.
This government order has given a boost to the administrative work of GBA and the city corporations.
