The Karnataka Lokayukta police on tuesday morning launched surprise raids against five government officers in the state in connection with the disproportionate assets (DA) cases.
This is the second raid held by the Lokayukta police in a week’s time.
Among those raided today include N Venkatesh, Revenue Officer,and Om Prakash,senior assistant horticulture director,both of whom work in Bengaluru.
In the raids last week,among others,the Lokayukta police had found Rs.9 Crore worth of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income of IAS officer Vasanthi Amar.
The Lokayukta Police have conducted search operations across the state on the offices and residences of five Government Officers and seized a disproportionate assets total worth Rs.24.4 Crore in total.
Based on the complaints several teams of officials carried search operations at 25 places simultaneously at various places in Bengaluru,Chitradurga,Hassan and Chikkaballapura belonging to the officials and their relatives and seized movable and immovable properties which are disproportionate to their known source of income .
The accused officials raided have been identified as K. Omprakash,Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture, BDA,Bengaluru having an estimated DA properties worth Rs.6.2 Crore.
N Venkatesh,Tax Accessor,Shettyhalli Sub-Division, BBMP,Bengaluru with DA properties worth Rs.2.5 crore .
Dr. Venkatesh G,Taluk Health Officer,Hiriyur Taluk, Chitradurga Dist,with DA properties worth Rs.3.5 crore.
Jayanna R.Executive Engineer,National Highway Hassan Division,Hassan with DA worth Rs.6.2 crore
Anjaneya Murthy.M,Junior Engineer,Rural Drinking Water and Sanitization Department,Gowribidanuru Taluk, Chikkaballapur Dist.with the DA worth Rs.5.7 crore .
The total seized valuables in terms of houses,sites,land, cash,jewels,vehicles and other household articles estimated to be Rs 24,44,63,728.
