Inter-state drug racket busted by Cottonpet Police Six Peddlers arrested and seized 53.5Kgs Ganja Worth Rs.40 Lakhs

The Cottonpet police busted a inter state drug racket and arrested six people from Bihar,Jharkhand and Odisha who were smuggling Marijuana from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi Via Bengaluru by cargo services .

The accused has been identified as,Shankarlal@Ajay,38,Anirudd Dalai@Sonu,38,Basant Kumar,35,Ajit Kumar Singh@Vipul Bhai,43,Deepak Kumar@Deepak Mehta,27,Amarnath Jaiswal@Mishra,61.

The police have seized 53.5 kilos of Ganja worth ₹ 40 lakh from them along with nine mobile phones,10 SIM cards and and a goods autorickshaw to carry the drugs.

The racket came to light when Cottonpet police based on credible information intercepted the autorickshaw carrying the drugs and arrested the two in July 13.

Based on their information,the police arrested the rest of the accused who confessed that they are smuggling Ganja from their sources in Vishakapatnam in AP by private bus and cargo services to Bengaluru.

After receiving the consignment the accused would pack the drugs concealed in readymade garment packages , create a fake GST and transport it to Delhi and other parts of the country based on the demand .

The police found that the accused had network across the major metro cities and investigations are on to ascertain their network,the police,said .

The accused have been booked under NDPS Act and taken into police custody to crack down on their network .
