Approval assured for Gadag–Bankapur National Highway:MP Basavaraj Bommai

Gadag (Laxmeshwar):Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai said that Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways,Nitin Gadkari,has assured approval for the Gadag–Bankapur National Highway while granting permission for other new national highways.

He was speaking after participating in the homa,havan, and puja rituals held during the consecration and inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Shri Ganapati Temple at the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) yard premises in Laxmeshwar town, Gadag district,under the guidance of Shri Jagadguru Veeragangadhara Mahaswamiji of the Rambhapuri Peetha.

He said it brings him great joy today that a Ganapati temple has been built at the APMC.He thank the organizers for giving me the opportunity to take part in this event.

Lord Ganapati is the remover of obstacles,and they always begin any good work with his worship. May trade and business at the APMC yard grow two or threefold with Lord Ganapati’s blessings.

Let the blessings of the Swamijis of Nonavinakere and Mukti Mandira be with the farmers here.The idol of Ganapati,sculpted from Makkan stone and brought from Jaipur,represents special devotion and sanctity.It will continue to shine and bless all.

The MP said regarding their long-standing demand concerning the Karwar–Ilkal road, as per their request, the Gadag–Bankapur road already has a DPR (Detailed Project Report).Since approvals for new national highways were temporarily halted,it remained pending.

However,Nitin Gadkari has now promised that it will be approved during the next round of highway clearances—and it certainly will be.

As for the Gadag–Yelavigi railway connection, he has discussed it with railway officials.The DPR will be completed within two months,and will obtain approval from Delhi.

Work will begin as soon as land acquisition is completed.Already,Rs.200 crore has been earmarked for it in the budget.

The former CM appreciated the large number of women who had gathered at the event and said they performed the puja with deep devotion and faith.

The homa was conducted with pure hearts.May its blessings benefit the people of Shirahatti and Laxmeshwar taluks.
