The Ministry of Textiles has announced the recipients of the Sant Kabir Handloom Awards and National Handloom Awards 2024, recognizing outstanding contributions to India’s handloom sector. A total of 24 awardees, including 5 Sant Kabir Award winners and 19 National Handloom Award recipients, will be honoured for their exemplary work in weaving, design, marketing, start-up ventures, and producer companies.
The awards will be conferred by the Hon’ble President of India during the 11th National Handloom Day celebrations on August 7, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will also be graced by Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh, along with distinguished guests, including Members of Parliament, industry leaders, designers, exporters, senior government officials, students, and over 500 weavers from across the country.
About the Awards
The Sant Kabir Handloom Award honours weavers who have made exceptional contributions to preserving and promoting India’s handloom traditions and improving community welfare. Awardees will receive:

The National Handloom Award recognizes weavers for their craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication to the sector. Awardees will receive:

Selection Process
Awardees were selected through a rigorous process involving Zonal, Headquarters, and Central Level Committees for weaving categories, and a two-tier process for design development, marketing, and start-ups. Committees included experts from the sector and were chaired by senior officials, including the Secretary (Textiles).
These prestigious awards are part of the Handloom Marketing Assistance (HMA) component under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP), aimed at motivating artisans and preserving India’s rich weaving heritage.
