As part of a city-wide initiative,e-Khata Melas have been organized across various locations,and BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has instructed officials to raise public awareness so that citizens can make optimal use of the service.
Speaking during his inspection visit to several areas under the Yelahanka Zone as part of the“Mukhya Ayuktara Nade Valayada Kade”initiative,he noted that four locations within the Yelahanka Assembly Constituency have been designated for the e-Khata Mela.He directed officials to ensure that the services are accessible and beneficial to the public.
*Yelahanka Lake Inspection:
The Chief Commissioner,accompanied by local MLA, Vishwanath,visited Yelahanka Lake to inspect its condition.He instructed officials to ensure proper upkeep,including the maintenance of walking paths and greenery.
Additionally,he visited the site of an ongoing stormwater drain project near Central Vihar Apartments and directed officials to expedite its completion.
*Road Widening Project Review:
The Chief Commissioner inspected the road widening work near Nitte Meenakshi College.Observing vehicles parked on both sides of the road near Manipal and Nitte Institutions,he instructed officials to clear the area and take measures to prevent future encroachments.
*Inspection of Railway Issues in Malleshwaram:
In Malleshwaram,at the railway level crossing (LC2) connecting Subramanya Nagar to 8th Main Road,there is a need to construct an underpass.
However,this site also intersects with the proposed K-RIDE suburban rail line. Considering these factors,the Commissioner asked railway officials to evaluate the pros and cons and develop a revised design for the underpass.
At the Yeshwanthpur Junction, the widening work of the 414A railway bridge towards Tumakuru is in progress. Since some parts of the land acquisition process remain pending,he instructed BBMP’s land acquisition officers and railway officials to resolve the issues and complete the project swiftly.
*Meeting with Officials:
Following the inspections,the Chief Commissioner held a meeting with officials and instructed that all footpaths within the Yelahanka Zone must be maintained properly. Issues with streetlight maintenance must be addressed, and necessary repairs carried out.
He emphasized that measures must be taken to prevent any flooding during the monsoon.Unauthorized constructions must be strictly monitored and appropriate action taken.
Trees that are in dangerous conditions or dried out must be removed,and overgrown trees along footpaths should be trimmed.
Zonal Commissioner,Karigowda,Joint Commissioner, Mohammad Naem Momin,Deputy Commissioner, Mamatha,Chief Engineer,Ranganath,Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials were present during the visit.
