Prime accused in Soladevanahalli student stripped and attack case row over a girl arrested

The Soladevanhalli police arrested ninth accused who along with eight of his associates stripped and assaulted an 19-year-old college student in the outskirts of the city over a row over girl on June 30 .

The accused identified as Hemant, 25,a resident of Dasarahalli who claimed to be a student union leader.

“He has two prior cases in Soladevanahalli related to simple hurt,”a senior officer said.“He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.

The Soladevanahalli police on Monday announced the arrest of Shivashankar M,Yeshwant Patel,Rahul M,all 20, Hemanth,Tejas S,both 18,Rakesh R, 21,N Shankar Gowda,19,and Salman Khan,23,who beat up victim and forced him to delete the videos and pictures of the girl with whom he had relationship .

The incident occurred on June 30 in AGB Layout, Hesaraghatta.

Victim and the minor girl,who is also one of the suspects,had broke up,and has messaged to her even after the separation.

She called him to come to AGB layout for talks where the accused confronted him forced him in a car and tortured for several hours.He was heckled,humiliated, assaulted and stripped .

At the time of the arrest,the accused many of them were students had taken interim bail from the court citing that they had to attend the exam to avoid police investigation .

However they reportedly lied to the court and could not allow to attend exam by the college citing shortage to attendance as they wer irregular to the college .

The police said that they will challenge the interim bail to request the court to cancel their bail .
