The KR Puram police have cracked a robbery case and caught four students in 10 hours who ganged up to commit robbery to arrange money for their vices.
Three of the accused are studying class 9 while one of them are pursuing first year PU belonging to middle class families.
The accused according to the police addicted to smoking ganja and spend most of their time outside the house .
The accused would target people walking alone and snatch their mobile phones and sell them to throwaway prices to buy drugs.
The accused on July 3,targeted a homemaker from AP who had come to give half a kilo of gold valuables to her daughter which she had purchased .
While the victim got down from the bus and waking on Garden city college road the accused attacked her and robbed her bag , she was carrying .
The victim raised alarm but the accused managed to sped away on bike.
Based on the complaint, the KR Puram police registered a case and analysed the CCTV footage before zeroing in on the gang.
The accused did not realized that they had robbed half a kilo of gold valuables and a mobile phone worth Rs.50 lakh .
They took the mobile and buried the gold along with the bag in a graveyard where they usually spend time,a investigation officer who cracked the case, said .
The robbed mobile the accused had sold to buy drugs . Based on their confession the police team recovered the gold,mobile phone and a bike the accused used to commit the offence.
The accused also confessed that they had robbed mobile phones from the people in and around whitefield, but there were no complaints registered so far.
Since they are at the age group of 15 to 16 years,the accused have been produced before the Juvenile justice board and handed over to their parents after counselling .
