Prevent Littering in Vacant Areas:Maheshwar Rao

BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to take necessary action to prevent littering in vacant plots within the Dasarahalli Zone.

During an inspection from Hesaraghatta Main Road starting Sapthagiri Medical College today,he emphasized that dumping waste on roadsides and vacant lands leads to the formation of black spots.He instructed officials to implement suitable measures to curb this issue.

He also noted that the culvert (cross-drain) opposite Sapthagiri Engineering College has narrowed the road, and ordered that the road be widened to 7.5 meters.

He further directed the officials to take possession of the land already acquired for road widening near Sapthagiri Engineering College along Hesaraghatta Main Road.

*Develop Kirloskar Junction:

To ease vehicular movement at Kirloskar Junction on Hesaraghatta Road,he instructed officials to remove all obstructions and improve the junction.The footpath near Krishna Bhavan Hotel,currently encroached upon,must be cleared immediately.

*Plant New Saplings:

He instructed that overhanging branches on roads in Kirloskar Layout,which interfere with vehicle movement, be trimmed.

Additionally,dead and hazardous trees should be removed and replaced with new saplings as part of greening efforts.

*Repair Dug-up Roads:

The Chief Commissioner observed that certain roads in Navy Layout had been dug up by the Water Supply Board and left unrepaired.He directed that the damaged portions of the road be restored promptly.

*Encourage Reuse:

Discarded items like sofas,chairs,furniture,clothes, mattresses,bedsheets,toilet tiles,and commodes found along the roadsides should be redirected to dry waste collection centers for reuse.

He instructed the setup of systems to encourage citizens to bring such items directly to the centers instead of dumping them on the roadsides.Senior citizens interested in volunteering should be encouraged to participate in this initiative.

*Construct New RCC Drains:

In Chokkasandra Ward,he instructed that open storm water drains be upgraded with RCC walls.He emphasized that the alignment and dimensions for construction should adhere to the original maps and survey records.He also directed that regular desilting be carried out to keep the drains clean.

*2.5 km Inspection:

From 7:00 AM,the Chief Commissioner conducted a 2.5 km inspection walk along Hesaraghatta Main Road from Sapthagiri Medical College towards Tumkur Road, covering Kirloskar Layout and Navy Layout, along with officials.

The inspection was attended by Zonal Commissioner Naveen Kumar Raju,Chief Engineer Basavaraj Kabade, Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials.
