The KR Puram police have arrested a gang of five from Rajasthan who had robbed a Jewellery shop after threatening the staff at knife point and made away with gold valuables worth Rs.50 lakh .
The accused have been identified as Narayanalal,43, Keeraram,35,Pushpendra Singh,35,Mahendra Gehlot,27 and Dilip Kumar,36,from Rajasthan.
Four of the accused had come to Bengaluru to work as daily wage labourers and ganged up to commit robberies to make quick money.
As per the plan they zerored in on a jewel shop on Seegehalli and on May 5 the accused posing as customers entered the shop .
The owner of the shop had gone for lunch leaving the staff at the shop.The accused threatened the staff at knife point and emptied the tray which had 41 gold chains worth Rs.50 lakh and escaped .
Based on the complaint,the police,analysed the techincal evidence gathered from in and around the scene of crime and zeroed in on the accused from their home town near Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
The police also arrested a receiver of a stolen property as the 5th accused and recovered 478 grams of gold valuables from them.The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
