Clarification Regarding Scheduled Castes Survey of citizens in BBMP Limits

Pramesh S Jain

Karnataka Government in coordination with BBMP is currently conducting the Scheduled Castes (SC) Household Survey across BBMP jurisdiction across Bengaluru,to ensure every eligible household is included.

We understand that some residents have raised concerns on social media,TV news channels and our helpline, about survey stickers being placed on homes without prior interaction with the residents. We wish to clarify the following to address these concerns and ensure transparency:

1.Purpose of Stickers:The stickers are part of the survey process to track and confirm that our teams have visited each household. This is to ensure no SC household is missed during the survey.

2.Need for Interaction:Survey teams have been clearly instructed not to place stickers unless they interact with someone from the household. However,we acknowledge there may have been a few instances where this was not followed.Out of lakhs of houses surveyed, few houses might have been missed by our enumerators.

3.What to Do If No Interaction Happened:If a sticker has been placed without any interaction, please call our helpline at 9481359000 (the number is printed on the sticker itself). We will arrange for a visit to complete the survey properly.

4.Self-Declaration Option:Any SC household that has not yet been covered can also participate by filling a self-declaration form online.Simply scan the QR code on the sticker to access the link and submit your information.

5.Your Participation Matters:The sticker only indicates that a household was reached out to by the survey team. It does not imply completion of the survey unless there was a direct interaction.Residents are encouraged to use the helpline or the online portal to ensure their household is counted.
