Instructions Issued to Prevent Littering on Roadsides: Maheshwar Rao

Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has issued strict instructions to officials to take immediate action against roadside littering in the city.

During an inspection today near the Hebbal flyover, focusing on pedestrian pathways and sanitation,he directed the officials to enforce measures to prevent waste from being dumped on the roadsides.

He instructed that vigilant monitoring be conducted and fines imposed on violators.

Upon inspecting the pedestrian walkway near Baptist Hospital,he emphasized that the path must be constructed in such a way that it ensures unhindered movement for pedestrians.He further instructed that any damaged portions be repaired without delay.

*Rs.5,000 Fine on Yamaha Showroom:

Noticing that the Yamaha showroom located on Hebbal roadside was dumping waste in public spaces,Chief Commissioner directed officials to impose a fine of Rs.5,000 for violating cleanliness norms.Accordingly, Marshals at the site collected the fine on the spot.

*Cleaning of Black Spot:

He also took note of a known garbage dumping site (black spot) on 4th Main Road near Amruth Sagar Hotel in Hebbal and instructed officials to clear the area immediately.Officials from BSWML promptly deployed an auto tipper,cleared the waste,and cleaned the site.

*Register Complaints via WhatsApp–9448197197:

To enhance urban cleanliness, the BSWML has set up a complaint centre.A dedicated WhatsApp number – *9448197197-has been provided for citizens to register complaints by sending a message along with a photo.

Once received,the relevant officials will resolve the issue and provide feedback within a specified timeframe.

*Beautification Under the Flyover:

As the BDA continues flyover work from KR Puram towards the city,he instructed contractors to undertake beautification of the space beneath the flyover as part of the ongoing project.

BSWML’s Chief General Manager Lokesh,DGM Chandrashekar,AGM Rudramani,and Marshals,along with other officials,were present during the inspection.
