Lokayukta officials on tuesday raided properties linked to eight government officials and unearthed assets worth a whopping Rs.34.9 crore.
Lokayukta sources said that the search operation was conducted in more than 45 places in Bengaluru urban, Bengaluru rural,Kalaburagi,Dharwad,Hassan,Gadag and Shivamogga districts.
The officials of the anti-corruption watchdog searched the residences,offices and residences of the relatives of the government officers concerned.
Among the officers raided are Dr.Pradeep,professor coordinator of the Keladi Shivappa Nayaka Agriculture and Horticulture University,Shivamogga,was found to have assets worth the highest at Rs.6.34 crore,including immovable assets worth Rs.4.45 crore and movable assets worth Rs.1.89 crore.He owns five sites,one house,16.7 acres of agriculture land,Foreign currency worth Rs.25,000,goats and cattle worth Rs.15.5 lakh and farmhouses worth Rs.50 lakh.
Mallikarjuna Allipur,Executive Engineer,Rural Development and Panchayat Raj,Kalaburagi,owned total assets worth Rs.6.32 crore,including immovable assets worth Rs.3.9 crore and movable assets worth Rs.2.42 crore.
Ashok Lakshmappa Vasanad from Hassan,chief engineer,Malaprabha project zone,Dharwad,was found to have total assets worth Rs.6.11 crore,including immovable assets worth Rs.3.15 crore and movable assets worth Rs.2.95 crore.
Prakash K S,Executive Engineer,BBMP,Govindarajnagar West,Bengaluru,was found to have total assets worth Rs. 5.7 crore,including immovable assets worth Rs.4.22 crore and movable assets worth Rs.1.47 crore.
The other officers whose properties were raided are K G Amarnath from Bengaluru (total asset:3.85 crore), Lathamani D B from Hassan (2.89 crore),Ramachandra Masarakal from Kalaburagi (2.18 crore) and D B Patil from Gadag (1.48 crore).
All the raided officers have been booked for having disproportionate assets.
