The Dabaspet police have arrested a gunman and driver of former MP,Ananth Kumar Hedge for allegedly assaulting a 28-year-old businessman over road rage on Monday.
The duo along with the former MP were heading to Bengaluru from Tumakuru where they confronted SAif Khan,a businessman from Nelamangala and his family were returning home in a car.
The family allegedly blocked the way and did not let the SUV of former MP,Pass,despite honking several times to give way.Irked by this,the driver and the gunman,a police constable,confronted Saif Khan,dragged him out from the car and assaulted him.
As a result Saif Khan sustained injuries and lost his tooth with bloody mouth.The family along with other passers-by stopped the SUV and informed the police ,who rushed to the spot and took the accused to the station.
Based on the complaint,the police have arrested the driver and the gunman charging under assault and criminal intimidation .
The police have also recorded the statement of Mr. Hegde while the family insisted the police to book him also under the appropriate act for instigating the attack.
