A 25-year-old Rowdy Sheeter was hacked to death and his friend severely injured when a a group of armed men attacked the duo in Kadugodi on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Puneeth, a rowdy sheeter in Kadugodi police station limits.Another person who was with Puneeth suffered severely injured and being treated at the hospital .
According to the police,the incident occurred at around 9.30 pm when Puneeth was chatting friends on Government College Road in Vijayalakshmi Colony in Kadugodi.
The accused later identified as Srikanth,attacked Puneeth along with three others and fled the scene .
Police suspect that the accused are friends of the deceased and old rivalry could have triggered the attack .
The exact cause of the murder is known only after the arrest of the accused,a senior officer, said .
The Kadugodi police have registered a case of murder and formed a special team to track down the accused who are on the run.
