Labourer bludgeoned to death by his nephew over trivial row over mobile phone

A 29-year-old labourer was bludgeoned by his nephew over a trivial row over mobile phone in Batlahalli in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapura district on Sunday.

The deceased Rajesh sustained severe head injuries and rushed to a local hospital from there shifted to NIMHAS hospital in Bengaluru where he succumbed on Tuesday.

According to the police,Sunil and the accused Ramesh were living in the same house as part of joint family and both are working as labourers.Sunil had borrowed Ramesh phone and not returning.

The duo had a fight on Sunday night over the issue and Sunil refused to return the phone.In a fit of rage Ramesh went outside and returned late in the night when Sunil was sleeping.He picked up a boulder and crushed Sunil’s head and escaped .

The police had initially registered a case of attempt to murder and later took up a murder case after Sunil succumbed the next day.The police are now on the lookout for Ramesh who is on the run.
