Two motorcycle riders were killed and two others injured in a freak accident occurred on KR market flyover in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Afzal,25,a footpath vendor,native of Mangaluru and residing in Vijayanagar and the accused bike rider Akash, 24.
The injured Asim,riding pillion with Afzal and Mani riding pillion with Akash sustained injuries and admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred at around 1 am when Afzal after work heading home with Asim,Meanwhile Akash, resident of KP Agrahara and mechanic by profession rode in a rash and negligent manger and crashed into Afzal’s bike after losing control .
The impact of the accident was so high that all the four tossed in the air and crashed on the road, sustained severe head injuries .
None of them were wearing helmet and there was a chances of them surviving,a senior officer part of the investigation, said .
Passers by shifted the injured to the near-by Victoria hospital where the Afzal and Akash were declared as brought dead.
The City Market Traffic Police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving for further investigations.
