Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to resolve the pending land acquisition issues for the development of the service road along Sarjapur Main Road,where road widening work has already been completed.
During an inspection near Iblur Junction under the Mahadevapura Zone,he reviewed several issues, including pedestrian walkways.
Speaking on the occasion,he instructed officials to persuade landowners along the service road to cooperate with the land acquisition process and to proceed with the development work.
The main road from Iblur Junction to Carmelaram RJ Tech Park,spanning 4.7 km, has already been widened to 45 meters and asphalted in 2022.
However,due to delays in acquiring certain properties under the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) scheme for the service road,progress on development has been hindered, an official informed.
In response,the Chief Commissioner instructed officials to collect relinquishment documents from landowners who have already agreed to the acquisition and formally transfer the acquired land to the BBMP.He also directed the preparation of a plan for constructing proper pedestrian walkways.
*Upgrade Junctions:
He emphasized the need for comprehensive improvement of Iblur Junction,Haralur Road Junction, and Kasavanahalli Road Junction.This includes building pedestrian walkways,installing pedestrian crossings,and preparing a detailed development plan for the area.
*Conduct Drone Survey:
Instructions were issued to undertake proper desilting of Storm Water Drains in the Mahadevapura Zone.To monitor encroachments and assess the condition of the drains,he ordered a drone survey to be conducted.
*Rs.1 Lakh Fine Imposed:
Noticing that sewage was being directly discharged into the Storm Water Drain from the Srinivasa Classic residential complex,he directed that a fine of ₹1 lakh be imposed on the property owners.
He also ordered officials to take immediate steps to prevent further discharge and instructed strict desilting of the drain in preparation for the monsoon.
*Install Surveillance Cameras:
While inspecting a waste transfer point near Cloud Nine Hospital,local residents complained that waste was being dumped there at night.
In response,the Chief Commissioner instructed officials to construct a covered shed at the location and install surveillance cameras to prevent improper disposal of garbage.
*2 km Inspection:
The Chief Commissioner conducted a 2-kilometer walking inspection from Iblur Junction to Kasavanahalli Road Junction,assessing conditions with officials.
He directed that special attention be given to the maintenance of pedestrian paths,repair of side drains and desilting,measures to prevent roadside garbage dumping, construction of pedestrian overpasses,and building new sidewalks where they are currently absent.
Present during the inspection were Chief Engineer Ranganath,Executive Engineers,Uday Chougule and Raghavendra,Assistant Executive Engineers,and other concerned officials.
