Even though the Ramanagara police almost cracked the case,the special team as part of investigation questioned the second wife of late gangster Muthappa Rai to ascertain her possible role in the shoot out on Ricky Rai.
Anuradha,52,named second accused in the FIR, appeared before the Bidadi police at around 11 am and was questioned by the team of investigators for around five hours Before she was let off .
Speaking to the media soon after she stepped out of the station,Anuradha denied having any role the truth will prevail,she told the media.
“I believe that the police will deliver justice in this case,” Anuradha added.
“Let them find out who is behind the attack and punish them—that’s all I ask.I saw him Ricky last in October in the court.If I am called again by the police,I will appear.”
Ricky,33,was shot in his moving black Toyota Fortuner from a distance of less than 50 metres near his Bidadi house in the early hours of April 19.
Police so far have arrested Vittal Monappa,53,who was a gatekeeper at Ricky’s house in Bidadi.Before that, Monappa was a gunman for Muthappa for nearly three decades,and Ricky grew up under his supervision, according to the police.
The police are investigating further to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
Police suspect monappa has carried out the attack on behest of someone and probe is on to find out who is actually behind the attack.
The police suspect that Ricky Rai carried out the attack on himself to hit two birds in single stone.
One to implicate his rivals in a case and secondly take over the business and become the undisputed one in the field sources,said.
The police earlier questioned Rakesh malli and Rocky rai and recorded their statement.
The police are yet to question two others accused by Ricky Rai.
