Six days after the Ricky Rai son of former don Muthappa Rai,was attacked,the Bidadi police on Thursday cracked the case and arrested a 53-year-old security guard who opened fire at the car .
The accused Vittal Monappa who was gate keeper of the Rai’s house opened fire reportedly to stage managed the attack .
Ricky sustained injuries on his nose and right arm and was admitted to the hospital.Presently he was out of danger and recovering in the hospital .
Going by the nature of attack,the police who analysed the crime scene and verified the ballistic report corroborated with the weapons used by the security guards before taking Vittal into the custody.
Monappa was questioned two days ago before being hospitalised due to health reasons.
He was discharged on Thursday morning and questioned for several hours before being placed under arrest.
The police are now probing further to ascertain the motive behind the attack.Rai’s driver in his complaint , accused Ricky Rai’s rivals,Rakesh Malli,his step mother , Anuradha,relator Nitesh Shetty and Vidyanathan suspecting them behind the attack .
Even though the police Questioned Rakesh Malli in detail,the police based on the circumstantial evidence , confirmed that insiders job in the attack and corroborated with the evidence,before arresting Vittal .
Though the police suspected that Rai staged managed the attack to implicate his rival,the police are further investigating to ascertain the exact motive .
