Man a driver hacked to death by unknown assailants in Banashankari while sleeping on road

A 33-year-old man was hacked to death by unknown assailants in south Bengaluru, police officials said on Monday.

The deceased is Nikhil,originally from Mysuru.

Senior officer said,Nikhil moved to the city a week ago and drove a Tata Ace mini pickup truck for a living.

On Monday,at around 7.30 pm,Nikhil was sitting in his parked vehicle at the AK Colony in Jayanagar.

“Out of the blue,around five to six unidentified assailants arrived at the scene and fatally attacked the victim with machetes.

He was taken to the hospital but to no avail and was declared dead.

The Banashankari police have registered a murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A probe has been launched to trace and arrest the suspects, the officer said.
