he HSR Layout police have arrested a 30-year-old city based jeweller along with two of his security personnel for assaulting owner of a restaurant owner and threatening him with a machette over a trivial row on Wednesday.
Based on the complaint filed by Thiruselvam S,owner of Adyar Ananda Bhavan Restaurant,BDA Complex,HSR Layout,the police charged Vishnu Sharan Bhat,owner of Bhima jewellery,under arms Act,voluntarily causing hurt , wrongful restrain,intentional insult to provoke breach of peace,criminal intimidation and mischief.
The accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody where they were presently out on bail .
According to the complaint,the accused had visited the hotel on February 9,in a brand new high end car without registration and damaged a car parked in front of the restaurant .
The entire act was recorded on the CCTV installed in the premises .
On February 26,he saw he came near the restaurant again and confronted them about the offence.The suspects told him to produce video evidence.
When the complainant was looking in his phone for the video footage,he alleged that the three in their car attempted to hit him and when he tried to move away, threatened him and brandished a machette.
On Tuesday,Vishnu R,35,employee of a gold shop,filed a complaint against Sharma and six others for assaulting him accusing of stealing gold valuables .
He alleged that the accused detained him illegally and assaulted him at the basement of the shop,demanding ₹ 3.5 lakh .
After six hours of torture,they released him after forcing him to sign the papers stating that he would return the return the money and threatened him with dire consequences if he complaint to the police.
After getting treatment at the KC General hospital, Vishnu R has filed a complaint with the Koramangala police on Tuesday.
A case was registered under Sections of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The suspects were remanded in judicial custody, the police said.
While the Koramangala police registered a case against Bhat and others under hurt,wrongful restrain,criminal act with common intention and criminal intimidation under BNS for further investigation.
