Two Juveniles held by Chamarajpet police for stealing donation box from Venkataramanaswamy temple and recovered Autorickshaw & 5 Two Wheeler worth Rs.2.39 lakhs

The Chamarajpet police on Monday held two juveniles for stealing a donation box from Venkataramanaswamy temple on last Tuesday .

Senior officer said,the donation box would be kept in front of the temple situated in Kaniyara Colony so that devotees could make their offerings. It wasn’t locked or secured..

On February 12,Srinivas,the manager of the temple,who arrived at the spot at 7 am found the donation box was missing and lodged a complaint with the police.He told the police that the donation box contained around Rs. 2,000.

The Chamarajpet police registered a case and began the probe and arrested the two minors.From them,the police recovered the stolen donation box,an auto rickshaw and five two-wheelers total worth ₹ 2.39 lakh.

The accused were habitual offenders involved in series of thefts,the police said adding that they have been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for further action.
