Union Minister V Somanna inaugurates new booking office and flag off MEMU trains at Ashokapuram railway station

T he Union Minister and Minister of State for Jal Shakti, V.Somanna,inaugurated the new booking office at the second entry of Ashokapuram Railway Station and flagged off the special MEMU train service between Ashokapuram and Bengaluru on 15th February 2025.

In an effort to enhance passenger amenities and improve railway services,the Mysuru Division of South Western Railway has newly renovated facilities at Ashokapuram Railway Station.

To ensure a seamless and comfortable travel experience for all passengers, a new booking office has been constructed at the station’s second entry.This office will provide convenient ticketing facilities for travelers.

The upgrades at Ashokapuram Railway Station aim to streamline passenger services and offer a more comfortable travel experience.

From 16th February 2025,two pairs of MEMU train services (Train Nos. 06525/26 & 66551/52) will be extended from Mysuru to Ashokapuram Railway Station.

This expansion will enhance connectivity between Ashokapuram,Mysuru,and Bengaluru.

These services will offer an efficient and comfortable travel experience for both daily commuters and long-distance travelers.

Addressing the public,the Minister appreciated the Railway’s efforts to improve connectivity and passenger experience in Mysuru Division.He also assured that more initiatives would be undertaken for the benefit of the people in the region.

On this momentous occasion,MP of Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency,Yaduveer KrishnaDutt Chamaraj Wadeyar, MLA of Krishnaraj Constituency,T S Shrivatsa,MLCs,CN Manjegouda,K Vivekananda and Divisional Railway Manager, Smt Shilpi Aggarwal and other senior Railway officers were present.
