Putin said that Prime Minister Modi is one of the leaders he would like to have a cordial conversation with over tea.
Putin was asked which world leader he would like to have a chat with over a cup of tea. In response, he named his friends. “I have good relations with former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, former French President Jacques Chirac, and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Also, in Asia, Indian Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Jinping are my friends,” he said
Putin referred to a comment made by Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on a recent occasion, addressing concerns expressed by Western countries about the BRICS group. “BRICS is not a group that opposes the West. It is not their group either. That is a good comment. It does not work against any country. It works only for the benefit of its member countries,” Putin said. The group includes Brazil, China, South Africa, Russia and India.
Whenever Putin comes to the occasion, he praises the friendship between Prime Minister Modi and the policies being followed by India. Modi has visited Russia twice this year. He participated in the BRICS summit in October and reiterated that India supports diplomacy and dialogue, not war. In this case, Putin will also visit our country soon as per the invitation sent by India. The Kremlin has revealed that the dates for this will be finalized in early 2025. It was said that the two leaders agreed to meet once every year. As part of this, Putin will be coming to India this time.
